Migration Stories

We live in times of profound instability. Migration due to war, ecological crisis, economic opportunity or hardship are now a given. My collection explores the aesthetic of human movement and migration with their objects.

My generation is on the move, both towards cities to find opportunities and towards interiors as we flee the pandemic. We are packing and moving, packing and moving. How does this affect the way we dress and the things we carry?

In this collection, my fabrics reflect memories of my childhood; lace curtains, household linens, and childrens clothes. Patchwork and layered fabrics evoke the feeling of taking one’e life on the road, packing and migration.

Facing down these challenges, we tap into our precious memories as a source of strength, happiness, hopefulness, and stillness, real or imagined.
